Why and how do people find j-bloggers online

June 16, 2006

This from W. Cassidy (2005) in Variations on a Theme:  “as Singer notes, it is likely that familiarity with the print edition of a newspaper is what leads readers to seek it out online” (269).    In the blogosphere, is it familiarity with print work that leaders readers in to the blogosphere, or is it the blogosphere that leads them to the paper?    Searched the Coyne archives for the time he started out  [Jan 04 – Canadian Newsstand Proquest] and found no reference to the term blog in his print columns; even tried from 2002 forward, the year the first newspaper went online. That's just gotta be wrong – try a different search index /terms.
